Bounderies
“Their feelings, beliefs and actions are their responsibility, not yours.”
This quote is taken from my fellow blogger Cynthia Bailey Rug, in her post she mentions a very informative book on the subject called “Boundaries” by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsen
I am thankful to Cynthia who writes so many very helpful posts on overcoming having been abused emotionally and physically.

I will be working on this subject for a long time as I have only just begun this journey finding my boundaries. Today I found a conversation between Jesus and his disciples in Matthew 15: 12-14
The disciples told Jesus that the Pharisees were displeased and offended by what Jesus had told them. He had confronted them with great hypocrisy in giving their money to the temple instead of taking care of their old parents. Jesus’ answer was :
Let them alone and disregard them; they are blind guides and teachers. And if a blind man leads a blind man, booth will fall into a ditch
It is so easy for me to become insecure if anybody gets offended or cross with me. So this is an example to remember.

True, so true. One of the most important lessons I learnt over the past, let’s say 20 years (I am turning 45), is not to care too much about other people’s opinion about myself. I am who I am. I care about the opinion of my family and a few friends, but what the “outer world” thinks is of little concern. I have a pretty good moral compass – Kant’s Categorical Imperative and the Ten Commandements – and I get along well so far.

Thank you for commenting. It’s not new to me either, but I am often reminded that I need to stand on my ground without shaking

For me I have learned that it has taken me nearly two decades to set clear boundaries especially with others. Been so busy consumed at winning their approval that I failed to realize all I need is the Father’s! All for a reason though; for such a time as this! Hey I was wondering about your inspirational Friday posts. Is this it or will you post later today? Either way I’ll be tuning in!😊

Maria, I think it is ok if you shake or your knees knock…but you stand there and stay where you have taken your position. It takes more courage and a stronger moral compass to stand your ground while shaking than when that feels easy. Also, when you do that, when you stand when you are afraid or your confidence is unsure, you show the way for others on how to do that and that you can survive when you do. Good for you! I commend your bravery…and recognize your fear. I applaud your certitude and am grateful that you haven’t allowed your anxiety or uncertainty to undermine you. You, I, We, all, contain great contradictions and ambiguities…may we always embrace who we are!

That is a beautiful flower about to bloom, do you know what it is? I thought it might be a peony or a rose . . .

It is an English rose from my garden Maddy. One of those that only manage to bloom one day it seems and is very sensitive to wind and rain
