The Gavnø Castle

A glimpse of the Gavnø Castle behind lavenders and a lawn and trees

Gavnø is one of many castles or palaces in Denmark where the park and part of the interior are open for the public. Gavnø is known for its excellent flower exhibitions following the different seasons. A few weeks ago, my husband and I spent some hours in the park. I have a vague memory of visiting with my parents to see the many tulips or roses many years ago. For the first time, we had a car and were able to get around on the weekend.

This time we didn’t go inside to see the paintings but enjoyed the well-kept park.

My favourite spot was the Pavillion filled with old toys. You could see them from the windows.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, many museums and other venues have had half entrance price, and that meant that more people came and made the place even more attractive.  For more information, go to their website in English.

A huge tree among many rare trees in the park

I would like to go back to see the tulips and their Christmas market.
