Golden Gate Bridge

There is a lot to say about San Francisco, but I treasure the sight of the Bridge. It’s an architectural masterpiece constructed in the period of the Great Depression in the 1930s. The Work Projects Administration (WPA) helped to finance the on-ramp to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. I never thought I would be able to see it, but I have been there twice in recent years.

Chief Engineer Joseph B. Strauss was asked in 1919 to create a bridge across the strait and from that day until the Bridge opened in 1938, he spent every woke moment on the work.

Irving and Gertrude Morrow were chief architects on the project. The colour is international orange, and Art Deco style was their choice and creation.

The Golden Gate National Parks in San Francisco is a large recreational Parks in the Bay area woods, flowers and animals and historical sights.

If I had a chance to revisit San Francisco, I would walk along the Marina to the Bridge, rent a bicycle and cross the Bridge, go back and further on to the Presidio and the vast Golden Gate Park and Lands End.

      • Thank you for letting me know you were having trouble commenting. Looks like an update on my site was taking place. I tested and everything works again. Giving the photos to the people I want to have them was easy. The hard part was realizing these people are adult enough to care for them.
