Hidden Churches in Copenhagen
I lived for many years in Copenhagen but was oblivious to these masterpieces of beautiful architecture.
Frederiksberg is an independent city surrounded by our capital, Copenhagen. These four churches are from the same time period, the late nineteen hundred and were built because of population expansion in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. Unfortunately, the linked homepages are only in Danish and are not very informative on their history.

Thank you Maria. Photographs like these show illustrate the difference between yours and mine but at the same time they illustrate the things we have in common.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I won’t send pictures of our modern churches in contrast to these buildings. Something happened after the First World War

Our modern churches are quite different also.

We are so happy to know you. By the way, I am reading a massive book on WWII by Anthony Beevor. I read another by him on Stalingrad alone. It’s unfathomable that there was a war on many fronts and how much everybody involved was suffering. There was a lack of food supply equipment and weaponry on both sides. The only good thing was that Hitler was so insane that he often acted against his interests

Isn’t THAT the truth! He wasn’t always the brightest bulb in the pack, eh?!!

Imagine waiting in vain for food and winter clothes at Stalingrad with winter approaching and Hitler ignoring it because he felt they had already won. The same happened in Africa for Rommel. At least the food, fuel and weapon supply didn’t come

Very nice. I only went once or twice to Copenhaguen. And that was on business. I really should go back. (Even have a High school friend lives there with whom I’m still in touch…) Need to plan.
