Impressions from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C
Not being able to travel, I am able to draw from two years old pictures taken at that fine museum
In this blog comes two categories, European and American art. It’s hard to imagine that these paintings and pieces of art are so old. Each one is a masterpiece.
European Art 1428-1675
It’s hard to imagine that these paintings and pieces of art are so old. Each one is a masterpiece.
French Impressionism from the late 1800s
These are all French impressionists. People all over the world come in long lines to any museum which has a new Impressionist exhibition. In their time, they were not valued and always struggled to find a venue that would show their creations.
American Art
I fell in love with the American artists who were new to me. If there will be “the next time,” I will at once go back to this exceptional museum.

I spotted the Vermeer’s immediately, but slowed down to learn the others. It looks like the American artists had similar styles as their European counterparts.

I liked them a lot and want to see more of them. Sargent is exceptional. Saw his works in Boston too

We have some very talented people, but I suppose they can not be considered classics since we’re still a ‘young’ nation.

I believe they are classics. I love your nation and hope to be able to travel again.
The picture galleries in the post we’re still challenging to make as the texts are only shown in some cases.
