Edmund de Waal, the author of "The Hare with the Amber Eyes", has chased his Eprussi family history. The Nazis stole a lot of possessions, and the Japanese Netsukes were only saved by their faithful domestic help in Vienna. Like his distant relative Charles Eprussi, he seeks to refine his art, the creation of fine porcelain and pottery.
