On our way to Boston
Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by ballet. On our flight our Royal Danish Ballet Company was on a tour to The United States.
Two ballerinas were sitting close to us and I observed how one of them prepared a new pair of ballet shoes in a very skilled way. First she bent them a few times and then she sewed a beautiful sem on the top toe part in the the same fair rose colour as the shoe. Then long bands were attached, also by hand sewing. The other ballerina had her feet placed high on the seat in front of her.
When we arrive in Boston, we will see if we can see their performance.
The Royal Danish Ballet Company is the oldest in the world and their way of performing is a mixture of grace and expression. All human feelings can be shown through mimic and movements.
