Establishing a Foundation to Build on The start of a newborn’s life is crucial for the development of the relationship between the baby and his parents and the infant’s self-perception. The child’s need for sleep is enormous, and it helps the new parents to rest from the intensity of being together with their new-born. A new-born baby needs to sleep […]
Two Scenarios were seen on travel beautiful and well-fed child. She gives him the pacifier, still without looking. I stand quite close and can’t help following the episode, then I find an empty seat and escape to try to forget about what I know about the importance of interacting with your small infant. The ride goes on, and as nothing […]
What can be done to help babies in bonding to their parents without a smartphone getting in between?
Let social media inspire you https://mobile.twitter.com/USATODAY/status/774242852146524160 I was at a parking lot in my home town Herning in Denmark. Time with us was five p.m and I sat in my car just wanting to hear the news. That was when the Western world shook and the terror attacks on the World Trade Center happened. The reporters voice was trembling and my life came on a halt. Personally I went through a very tough time with especially my youngest boy who would turn fifteen in October 2001. He had problems due to having experimenting with cannabis and maybe other things too. I think he never felt at home after we had moved to Denmark six years earlier and he like my other children had been neglected by their father who sometimes showed them attention and at other times treated them cruelly. Years of attrition on my life had also made me fail in many ways especially in not being able to communicate properly with my children in their teens. I felt the heavy burden from the terror attack and that it meant a boundary had been crossed at the same time where I would have to search for my son early and late. The next morning I was awakened at five o’clock by the local police and the kind police officer asked me if I knew that my son was at a room for homeless people in Herning. […]
Twice I have been at the Royal Library in Copenhagen to scan the old catalogs from different Danish pram firms from the last century. It’s been so interesting to see the many firms competing on making the most beautiful models. I am sure that those who did the original ones must have been frustrated many times as their models were […]
I found a beautiful short video with a father singing to his two months old daughter. It is clear to see that they are both deeply involved in their being together. The father comes so near that she can see him clearly and then he sings in such a loving tone the words from his heart. The little girl […]
Lately, I was reminded of Carol’s new-born grandchild and felt that I could share my articles on caring for babies. Carol, with her blog Writeful Mind, is a very social blogger who connects bloggers to the Facebook Café blog and is busy helping people who have suffered from abuse. I have stored up knowledge on this subject for many years, […]
A great responsibility to become parents. Choosing a healthy life style is essential.
Looking back 60-80 years at families with small children in the streets of Copenhagen
#WeekendCoffeeShare 29 May If we were having coffee I would tell you that I have been very occupied finding old catalogues on former days’ prams or baby carriers. My whole life I have been fascinated by the designs of these useful things from especially the forties and the fifties. In my research I was lucky to find a few catalogues […]
