What a nice surprise to find a contribution to this spiritual walk. Lisann with the blogging name Redhead Reflections has started a journey taking one verse at a time through the Psalms from the Old Testament. I have read through the Psalms myself for many years and I have gathered much encouragement through these promises.
The day after my first-born’s birth I marked my old bible at Psalm 62:6 Amplified Edition
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense and my fortress; I shall not be moved.
For my whole life I had looked forward to become a mother. The situation was that I was afraid of the reactions from my ex husband. I found myself in a “near death” during the last exhausting part of the birth looking upon myself from outside. These verses were a solid ground to lean on and to help me believe that I could manage the demands following getting my first child. I had to protect us from the sudden anger outburst from the father of the child, a situation that went on for the next nine years.
Many years after when my children were in danger or difficult situations emotionally or physically I would again cling to verses from the Psalms. One example is from Psalm 57:2
I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them

I’m so excited to begin a “verse by verse” walk through the book of Psalms! On this journey, my intentions will be to take one verse at time and comment on how it inspires or saddens me. Hopefully, even the verses that sadden, will ultimately lead to the promise of God’s Grace; however, this is not promised. (Gotta keep it real)
I’ll attempt to tackle at least two verses a week and then post my reflections on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and sometimes both days. So please check back every Tuesday and Wednesday and walk with me on this journey.
I invite others to send me their posts on the subject. I will reblog it or link to it the nest week. Feel free to use my badge and tag the post #DevotionalFriday
