The Beaches of Skagen
In the last part of the nineteenth century, the Danish Skagen painters got their inspiration from the light and the seas of Skagen, the most Northern part of Denmark.
On a windy and cloudy morning, I walked along the beaches where they found many of their motives.

Those windswept beaches are similar in many way to some of the beaches in Australia. But, Maria, what is that large device in photo number 3. I am intrigued.

I am sorry the texts are hiding behind the photos. It’s The old tilting beacon at Skagen coast from about 1825. The first one was built in the 1600s.
Henry wrote about it here: https://henryhogh22.com/2019/06/15/flyvergrave-paa-skagen-kirkegaard/
Thank you for seeing my post. Writing texts have become more difficult for me in the new blog editor

Some pictures don’t need texts, Maria. You did a wonderful job.
Have a great day and say hello to Henry for me.
